Trike’s Story
Trike, a remarkably handsome cat, came into our care after being struck by a car. He was unable to bear weight on his leg and was clearly in severe pain. Recognizing the urgency of his condition, Trike was rushed to the emergency clinic, where he was immediately given pain medication and underwent radiographic imaging.
The results revealed a serious fracture of his femur. To relieve his pain and give him the best chance at a healthy life, veterinarians recommended amputation of his right hind leg. After the surgery, Trike was transferred to Santa Barbara County Animal Services, where he received attentive care while recovering and waiting for his staples to be removed.
During his recovery, Trike captured the heart of a shelter volunteer who decided to foster him until he found a permanent home. That temporary foster placement soon became something much more. Trike was officially adopted by his foster mom and welcomed into a loving home. Today, he is thriving and living his best life alongside his new family — including a German Shepherd, whom Trike confidently rules as the boss of the house.
